Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all! I am thankful that today is going to be a busy day for me! That means that my husband and I have lot of family around us, which is always a good thing! :)

And as you're stuffing yourself at dinner, don't feel bad about splurging on cranberries. They might help prevent cavities, according to a recent study.

The Results of the Benefit

Since I talked about the Hurricane Katrina Benefit I was planning a few blogs down, I thought I'd give you the results.

We had about 90 people at the event, pre-sales were approximately $1800 and sales on the day of the event came to about $1800. It was very successful, because almost all of the food was donated, so almost all of the $3600 donated will go to the relief fund. Our church is sending the money to the Episcopal Relief and Development Fund, and I heard (I haven't verified this) that only 4% is taken out for overhead. That means 96% of our money will actually go to the victims. This is better than the numbers for the Red Cross!

All in all, it was a wonderful time. Everyone had fun...yet they knew that they were supporting a great cause!

Graduation Festivities and Beyond

The graduation festivities are finally over. I graduated from USC's MBA program a couple weeks ago. Last week was the final event...a dinner with the in-laws and my parents. We went to Darya's, our favorite Persian restaurant. The food was wonderful!

Now, I'm searching for a job...But in the meantime, I'm enjoying being a housewife! I want 2 lives. Since graduation, I have been doing everything for my husband, Chris. I get up early every morning, and make him breakfast, lunch and later dinner. I enjoy running errands for him, when needed. And soon, when we have kids, I'll want to spend all my time with them. However, I definitely want a career, and I want lots of time to devote to my career. And, I guess, when I think of my career, I don't want anything to stand in my way of success. Can I do both without eventually neglecting one or the other?

Then, there's traveling...I have many places I'd still like to see...South Africa, New Orleans, Eygpt, China, England, the Bahamas...

It's almost cruel that we're shown so many opportunities in our lives, but only given 70 or so years to indulge them all...
